Lock up Solenoid? It is located in the transmission. Remove front left tire, remove access cover on tranny (yes the whole side cover) and it is right there. One screw, and two wires. Crank sensors are always located on the camshafts. The 1989 Pontiac Sunbird crank sensor is located on the head of the engine towards to end of the camshaft.
If it's an automatic, you may have a sticking solenoid INSIDE the transmission.
