1.3 and 1.6 liter don't have one 1.8 liter is at the back top see picture at this site It's a wonder he could even figure out how to turn the computer on. Please don't answer questions if you don't know what the hell you are talking about. Geo Metros did not come with a 1.6 OR 1.8 liter engine. For both the 1.0 and 1.3L, the camshaft timing belt tensioner pulley is located inside the timing belt cover, attached to the water pump in the center front of the motor. The air conditioner belt tensioner is under the air conditioner compressor between the compressor and the block.

this is for the 5.0 engine http://media.photobucket.com/image/serpentine%20belt%20diagram%2097%20mercury%20mountaineer%205.0/brian123dye/SANY0172.jpg
Pulley above the crankshaft pulley (lowest on engine)
What did unhook or break while you were under the hood ?
THE CRANK SENSOR ON A 97 5.7 IS LOCATED UNDER THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY BETWEEN THE PULLEY AND THE OILPAN. SLIGHTLY TO DRIVERS SIDE
bottom of engine where belts go
right side of crankshaft pulley
On the alternator belts, there is a pivot bolt that needs to be loosened located on the top of the alternator. There are also a lock bolt and a belt tension ajustment bolt located on the driver side of the alternator. As you loosen the ajustment bolt, the belts will come right off. The A/C belt uses an idler pulley accessed from under the car. That lock nut is in the center of the pulley, and the ajustment bolt is located on the side of the pulley. There is no pivot bolt for this belt.
Loosen 13mm nut that secures tension pulley. Then loosen 13mm nut/bolt just above tensioner assembly facing upwards, to remove tension from belt. Then finally remove the three 10mm bolts holding tensioner assembly to engine block. Install in reverse order.
the sensor is located behind the pulley for the water pump has one single 8mm bolt in it u need to remove pulley to get at it
the fuel pump is inside the gas tank
use a 3/8 drive ratchet to loosen the tension and take your belt off. Then unbolt the center bolt of the tension assembly and replace with a new unit.
