The White House has had a long history of being gifted with unique animals and wildlife. Lions and tigers and bears oh my! John Quincy Adams received an alligator from Marquis deLafayette, Jefferson received two bear cubs from Lewis and Clark, President Martin Van Buren received a pair of tiger cubs from the Sultan of Oman which (were donated to a zoo), the King of Siam gave President Buchanan a herd of elephants to add to his pair of Bald Eagles.
President Teddy Roosevelt, not only was a huge advocate in preserving our national treasures with our National Park System, but he also welcomed a lion, a hyena, a wildcat, a coyote, a zebra, an owl, a raccoon and an assortment of lizards, rats and fowl into the White House. However, our answer goes to Calvin Coolidge. Coolidge loved wildlife, was an avid sportsman and probably had the most animals. He had lots and lots of dogs, cats, a goose, raccoons, a donkey named Ebenezer and a bobcat named Smokey. Recognizing his love for all creatures, many times high ranking officials from other countries gave gifts to Coolidge including lion clubs, bears, an antelope, a pygmy hippo and numerous wild birds.
Who was the only President to own bear cubs?
It is Martin Van Buren
President Harry S. Truman compared his job to riding a tiger.

Yes. It was all a conspiracy.
Ronald Reagan ( Chicago Cubs )
It may cost anywhere between $10,000 to $50,000 US dollars. Tiger cubs are a LOT of work, and are potentially dangerous exotic pets because they are wild animals, and could be violent- turning on their owners if provoked. It is not recommended that you purchase one unless you are properly trained to handle and care for an exotic animal; they are extremely expensive, and are time-consuming.
Not just one president owned a cat. Lincoln owned Tabby the first cat owned by a president, Theodore Roosevelt had two, Calvin Coolidge had three, some even had exotic cats, i.e. a tiger and lion cubs.
President Ronald Reagan was a radio sport announcer and actor before becoming president. He was an announcer for Chicago Cubs baseball games in Des Moines in the 1930s.
James Buchanan
Theodore Roosevelt was president the last time the Cubs won the world series in 1908. Since then, as of 2010, there have been 18 US presidents in office.
There is no reason. Why is barack obama famous besides being the us president? No reason either.
Toy'r'us but with PETS.
There are different tiger species that depend on different animals. I'll list the deer for the most common tiger subspecies: the Bengal (or Indian) tiger. BENGAL---A tiger usually hunts on sambar, an Indian deer which is pretty common where tigers live. They also may eat chital or chevrotain. Usually they eat a species of deer. If that's un-available, they may also eat fish, small mammals, small birds, usually anything edible to them (for us, this is probably highly un-edible) Also, tigers are known for man-eating. THAT IS NOT FOR FOOD. Usually it's for protection, from the humans. They think the humans are going to kill the tiger, the humans think the opposite. This is why there's tension between animals. Another thing, tigers eating their cubs is true, but also for protection. Mothers may do it to stop them from suffering (we do it to our pets), fathers for protection from cubs taking over the territory.
