The people who wanted the throne when Edward the Confessor died were :
Because harolds sister is married to edward the confesser
extreme piety.
He was very religious.
Because he was jealous that his brother Harold was king and he wanted to king. so it was just jealousy
Harold Godwinson needed to be king because he was a very negotiating man and he believed that he could negotiate with all his people if he became king. He wanted the best for England and (he thought) to achieve this he should become king! He wanted peace across England. Harold Godwinson believed he should be king because he was the only englishman out of the 4 others, which were: Prince Edgar, Harold Godwinson, Duke William and Harald Hardrada. He also was the King's (Edward the Confessor) Army Genral. He was a very important English noble, t'was married to Edward's sister. On Edwards death bed he chose Harold to be the next king; but he was the only person there so if that is true or not ... NOBODY KNOWS But he did rebel against Edward in 1051 Prince Edgar: He was the King's nephew so therefore the nearest blood relative. But he was only 14 and lived in Hungary.
Apparently in 1051 Edward the confessor had named William as the heir Harold Godwin(son). His sister was married to Edward and Harold had helped Edward fight many battles during his reign.Edgar the Atheling was the nearest blood relative to Edward and so felt almost challenged to become king. Harald Hardrada's ancestors were kings of England previously so he felt he had the right to be king. They obviously were all megalomaniacs and were obsessed with power.
His son Kiwal'o.
Heirs. It is said that he deliberately avoided having children, because they would also be descendants of his wilfe who was a member of the highly ambitious Godwin Family. Harold was a son of Earl Godwin and perhaps Edward didn't want him to succeed either. William of Normandy may well have been Edward's preferred successor.
he could rule all of England and King Edward the confessor
In my opinion he should have been king because Edward the confessor said he could be next in line also William the conqueror forced Harold to make an oath he didn't want to make.
well it all started when Edward the confessor (king of England) was dying, lying on his death bed. there were 3 candidatesHarold Godwineson, Earl of Wessex,William, Duke of Normandy,Harald Hardraada, king of Norway.the only reason there were candidates was because Edward the confessor had no son. he practically didn't want one.
Because he was jealous that his brother Harold was king and he wanted to king. so it was just jealousy
cos he was stupid and he wanted to be the king but edward first had to die so that the guy could be a king after him.

King Henry VIII did not want to get rid of any of his children. He did of course want boys so as to further his name and he did have one son, Edward VI.
it never says that.. umm if u still want to know where he and Bella talks about that its the next chapter or its the second chapter after the chapter Bella and rosalie talks in edward's room when edward goes hunting.
yes the Vikings were involved in the battle of 1066It was Harold hardrada claiming that he was the rightful king due to an agreement between his father hardicanute and the Danish ruler of EnglandThe agreementHardicanute had promised the throne to Kind Magnus of Norway and as magnus was too old to battle edward the confessor magnus's son Harold Hardrada was his heir and therefore said he was the next in line for the throne.
