∙ 14y agoWithout a doubt, there is a food that puts Indian, Thai, Mexican, Cajun, and the other traditional "Spicy" foods to shame, and that is Doro Wat, from Ethiopia. I am a spicy/hot food lover, and this fiery sauce was challenging like nothing I'd ever eaten before. It isn't just the pepper, either. This dish has an artful blend of 10-12 spices that enhance and prolong the heat from the peppers present in the dish. Authentic Doro Wat is not for the faint of heart. The sauce is formidable by anyone's standards.

There are Asian and Mexican dishes that are extremely spicy and almost intolerable to anyone not from the region and there are Asian and Mexican dishes that are extremely mild. It is also a regional thing, where certain areas of Mexico and certain areas of Asia prefer spicier food and other areas prefer milder food.
