No. It is a Tex-Mex/American invention, such as "Chinese cuisine" (Invented by Chinese immigrants in California).
Chinese Chicken and Corn Soup, Peking Duck with Fried Rice and Caramelised Banana Split with Caramel Sauce and Coconut Ice Cream
neither, they are both pretty fatten. But then again they both have some dairy in it. Also, fried ice cream is fried and to fry things you need oil which is bad for you and your heart, so I would think the regular ice cream is better.

ice cream is the world's favorite thing to eat in the hot days ever since 1800 ice-cream wasn't invented and children's & childs didn't have anything to eat in summer that the reason why Thomas crapper in vented it in china!
Fried bananas berries and other sweet fruits are good in pancakes or on ice cream.
Yes you can. Whip up some egg whites until they are fluffy and airy but not stiff like what you would need for meringues. Coat the ice cream in the egg whites, roll in desiccated coconut then deep fry for a few seconds. You need to be very careful you get the mix of the egg whites correct and don't over cook the item as liquid and hot cooking fat do not mix!
