In 1914, King George V (George Frederick Ernest Albert) had been on the throne for 5 years. His married Mary of Teck (Victoria Mary Augusta Louise Olga Pauline Claudine Agnes) in 1893. After Geoge became King, she was titled "Queen consort of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions and Empress consort of India." She was England's Queen but never the Queen of England. There has not been a Queen (or King) of England for over 300 years. England is a part of, but not the same as, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
