Colonists who remained loyal were called Tories. There is no official list of who remained loyal and who did not. A famous Tory was Benjamin Franklin's son, William Franklin who was the last loyalist governor of New Jersey.

About 20% of the population supported the UK against the Patriots. As many as 10% of the population (Mostly Quakers) were Pacifists who opposed war in any form and took a neutral position. The majority of those who had remained loyal remained in the United States after the revolution was over and became loyal Americans. Canada became the new home for many who preferred to live as British Citizens.
