The 34th President of the United States was Dwight D. Eisenhower. President Eisenhower was in office from January 20, 1953 to January 20, 1961. His Vice President was Richard Nixon.

Vice Presidents of the 1940'sThe 32nd President of the United States was Franklin D. Roosevelt. President Roosevelt was in office from March 4, 1933 to April 12, 1945. His Vice Presidents were John Nance Garner (1933-1941) Henry A. Wallace (1941-1945) and Harry S Truman (1945). President Roosevelt died on April 12, 1945 of a cerebral hemorrhage, shortly before the war ended. Harry S. Truman the Vice President succeeded Roosevelt. Harry S. Truman was the 33rd President and served from April 12, 1945 to January 20, 1953. Truman did not have a Vice President for the remainder of Roosevelt's term from 1945-1949. His Vice President from 1949 -1953 was Alben Barkley.

Vice Presidents 1900 - 1910President William McKinley was in office from 1897-1901. His Vice President Garret Hobart (1897-1899) died in 1899 and there was no Vice President in 1900. Theodore Roosevelt was Vice President in 1901.The 26th President of the United States was Theodore Roosevelt from September 14, 1901 to March 4, 1909. Theodore Roosevelt succeeded President William McKinley when he was Assassinated, and did not have a Vice President for the remainder of the term (1901-1905) Charles Fairbanks was Roosevelt's Vice President from 1905-1909. The 27th President of the United States was William Howard Taft from March 4, 1909 to March 4, 1913. His Vice President was James S. Sherman from 1909-1912. Sherman died on October 30, 1912 and the Vice Presidency was vacant for the remainder of the term (1912-1913)

Calvin Coolidge was elected into office in 1924, and his Vice President was Charles Dawes, the 30th US Vice President, from 1925-1929. Charles Curtis was the 31st Vice President under Herbert Hoover from 1929-1933.
