Blame it on the internet. "Most American" can now access information that was kept secret from them by the clergy with a click of the mouse. True Salvation is feedom from ignorance. There could be a number of reasons for this. Firstly, the 'sheep' often go where they are led. This does not mean they cannot think for themselves but that they can be misled by some who will only give them half the information or not explain the consequences of going a certain path. Thus it is partly in the pulpits of America that the blame must go. Those who inhabit them have abandoned the 'faith of the fathers' (not the US founding fathers but the Biblical fathers of the faith, not always 100% synonymous although the more recent founding fathers were certainly people of faith). They have absorbed much of the spirit of the age including evolutionary naturalistic Humanism, together with relativism which has undermined the idea of absolute truth.

Sometimes too, Christians have been slow to react or respond to the spirit of the age, which has then gained much ground.

Another possibility is materialism, and also perhaps the bad witness of those in prominent positions who have fallen into gross sin -this naturally turns people off, as does manipulation and treating Christianity as a business instead of the means for the salvation of souls.

The simple Gospel truth also often gets hidden amongst a lot of 'peripheral nonsense' and clutter so many people would not even know who God is.

Answer Because they are selfish and and want to do their will not God's this is no different than any other time.

Because they're realizing that "god" is a lie!!!

Because if they excepted God they would have to fallow God's law.

^-^ It's also up to them to believe in God or not. So if they don't believe in God, of course they will reject them.

WHAT is the only sin that God can not forgive?

The only sin that cannot be forgiven by God is the sin of rejecting the Holy Spirit's guidance and prompting for repentance. This is often referred to as "the unpardonable sin" or "blasphemy against the Holy Spirit." It is essentially a complete and final rejection of God's offer of forgiveness and salvation.

What points people towards god's reign?

There is no single answer that fits everyone but among the more common answers that fit most people: God promotes love and family God promotes a moral order that is opposed to chaos God promotes justice; standing up for the weak, the poor and the oppressed God promotes authority for those control freaks that want to be dictators God is seen as a source of miracles such as healing God is seen as a Santa Claus or as a servant to mankind In other words, most people only know God in terms of who they wish God to be. Likewise, those who reject God's reign are in reality rejecting a common understanding of God. For example, they may be rejecting the dictatorial God of the control freaks or they may be rejecting the Santa-Claus-like-God because life is too hard for there to be a Santa-Claus-like-God. Few people approach this subject logically. Regardless of whether they accept or reject God, nearly everyone does so for emotional reasons.

If anyone blasphems against the holy spirit his sins shall not be forgiven?

anyone can ask for forgiveness, even after rejecting God. Like this, hasn't every christian gotten angry with God at one point? YES! But God is more eager to get them back then anything. God loves us all, but its us who make the choice to go to heaven with him or to rot in hell by rejecting him, and not asking for forgiveness. I hope this answers your question
