There are two types of jobs:

1. Money

2. Enjoyment (Pleasure)

Money-Required for survival/a necessity of (modern) life.

Enjoyment (Pleasure)-Doing what you like and getting paid for it. If you like to fly, you work towards gaining employment in the field of flying: Radio Controlled airplanes, flying lessons with small single engine private airplanes, military employment offers training in Helicopter, Fixed Wing propeller and jet aircraft as mechanics, pilots, aircrewmen. All branches of the US Military have AIRCRAFT.

If a person likes boats/water, the US Navy/Coast Guard offer the opportunity to get PAID while working around the Ocean, Lakes, Beaches, Rivers...repairing, operating, and navigating around water and islands.

If an individual likes OFF ROADING, the US Army (to a small extent the US Marines) offer wheeled and tracked Armored Vehicle experience. These vehicles are used off road in places like Fort Irwin (for the Army) California and 29 Palms (for the Marines) also in California. Only the rich can afford to play with the equipment that the US Army uses when off-roading; and you can use the same equipment and GET PAID for using it!

Civilian Employees MUST follow instructions from their supervisors when working...or they will become UN-employed. The US Military is the same, they have to follow instructions...no matter where a person goes in life they must work for someone (unless they are independently weathly-and those folks may have boss's too...stockholders possibly). The US military has two small differences that separate it from the civilian world. 1. Retirement with a pay-check for the rest of one's life, even if the person retires at age 38 (18 plus 20 years equals 38) NO CIVILIAN JOB OFFERS THAT! 2. If a person doesn't work out (civilians fire them), the military retrains them...they are family...and allows them to learn another skill while still receiving a paycheck and a pension plan (retirement check).

If I was looking for a new position in my present job I'd say that I need to sit down, and take a long look at myself and see if I can answer this question. What do I want from life? Maybe I'm bored with my present position and want to change. Most people want the most that they can get from any job but there comes a time in life when you have to ask yourself am I making the right decisions in moving up the ladder of life? At the age of 16 I knew what I wanted to do in life, and that was to be a painter. Not someone who paints pictures, but a house painter, a car painter and so on. While I did other jobs along the way I always did paint till a brush with Cancer changed my path in life. Life is short so make the best of it. If you want to move on in life, then do it.

If an an employer fires an employee because they found out that the employee was looking for another position can that employee receive unemployment benefits?

Yes as long as you have enough time in the required time frame at the job to collect it. Unemployment benefits are determined by if the loss of the job was by no falt of you own and your looking for another job did not affect your performance in your current job so it was not a justification to fire you unless you looked for a job while you were supposes to be actually doing your current job and it was keeping you from carrying out the duties of your current job then it would be pretty much your own falt.

What have you learned from your job?

That I should have kept looking for another job, instead of settling for "what was easy to get". :) But as with any job, you gain more experience, social skills, ect. Just remember, don't settle for anything less. Try to find something you enjoy in your current job or find another one. That's my two sense!
