The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, because the US cut off their oil supply. And the bombing, is also a factor that led to WWI.
The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor for many reasons. One reason was because they wanted to have power. The Japanese already occupied China during the Spanish-American War. America didn't want to acknowledge their authority because America occupied the Philippines. Also, Japan along with the other Axis countries wanted itself to gain world domination by military force. Another reason for the bombing of Pearl Harbor was due to the fact that Japan needed Natural Resources like oil in order to expand. There were many other factors that led Japan to bombing, too.
The Philippines's strategic location provided the land air bases that Japan desperately needed to supply its southern island chains. It is the sole reason for the invasion. Without the Philippines, Japan would not have been able to supply its southern bases. http://books.Google.com/books?id=uOsKNa2aC6QC&pg=PA40&lpg=PA40&dq=strategic+japanese+defense+of+philippines&source=web&ots=phAR0qG6m7&sig=MwyUb7fH35rEDrNZ-A5SApKxTTM&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=5&ct=result
The Japanese made attacks on the territories held by the US. At the time of World War 2, the US had (and to a limited extent still does) many military and business interests in the Philippines as a result of the Spanish-American War. There were numerous US Military bases in the Philippines, Corregidor being one of the most famous.
They wanted to cripple the US Naval fleet prevent the US from entering WW2. All that really happened was that the US was provoked to enter the war and the country was very angry since there was no warning from the Japanese before their attack.
I assume you are talking about WWII, and that would be because the Japanese Empire wanted to expand and take over Asia, and eventually the world.
Philippines was hosting the largest Air and Naval base outside USA - Subic Naval Base and Clark Air base

The Japanese first attacked the Philippines, a few hours after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, on December 8, 1941 (Philippines time).
Yes they attack the Phillipines in a series of attacks against the British and American colonies in and around the Phillipines which was occupied by the British. This is what lead to the peak of Japanese occupation of the Pacific
Japan wanted to have control over most of the world, and in order to do that they needed to attack the Indies, Malaya, and the Philippines; no one ever thought they would attack the U.S.
No, the Philippines were allies of USA
At the time, the Philippines were a US possession that was scheduled to receive full independence in 1946. Nevertheless, the Philippines were a base for US armed forces and would have to be neutralized once Japan had decided to attack Pearl Harbor. So they had to invade the Philippines to prevent their use by the US as a base for attacking them.
The US would have still gone to war; Japan also attacked the Philippines.
Yes
For government reasons mostly and they wanted to claim Hawaii.

The attack was treacherous for many reasons. The United States was engaged with Japan in negotiations over the war effort. The attack was unprovoked and was unexpected.
