It depends entirely on the person. There are generally, three main reasons why Middle Easterners wish to move to the United States:
Freedoms: In most Middle Eastern countries there are high degrees of censorship. People cannot express their religious views, political views, and general ideals. Since the USA and Canada have freedom of speech and freedom of religion, these places are very appealing. Additionally, the US 4-6 amendments and the Canadian corollaries give Middle Easterners freedom on the other side, i.e. they need not fear arbitrary arrests and violence which are common in the Middle East because of authoritarian regimes.
Jobs: Most Middle Eastern countries have very high levels of unemployment and what jobs can be found often pay very little. As a result, many Middle Easterners want to work at US or Canadian Companies and make decent wages to support their families.
Family: Oftentimes a part of someone's family is already in North America and since the life here is better than the life there, the family chooses to reunite in North America.
