sorry, don't have an answer to your brake problem because I too just replaced the rear discs and pads on my 05 Forester and the brakes are grinding. The original discs warped. I've got to check tomorrow to see if I did something stupid. The braking is fine and the sound has deminished but they still grind when I go around turns. Weird huh! Let me know what you find out?
disc brakes in front and rear ( rotor ) Also , the rear rotors have a small drum on the back of them for small emergency brake shoes
first off are they disk brakes, (like the front one)? or drum brakes?
They are inside the drum part of the rear disc brakes. Remove the rotor and you will see the shoes.
this model has both shoes and rotor disks on the rear brakes. 2002 ford van e350 xlt is my model and I was surprised today when I did my brakes.
Yes.
On a 2001 Ford Expedition : The right rear rotor would be the passenger side rear brake rotor ( rotors are used with disc brakes )
just replace the rear brakes
i need a diagram on how rear brakes are assembled
how to replace rear brakes on 1972 f600
loose rear caliper or drum brakes, could be loose hardware or on disc brakes, possible warped rotor
That is not a easy job, just because you need to push piston in, and you have to turn it at the same time, but to tak the caliper of and rotor is easy.
The grinding could be coming from the rear brakes.
