the sun is the root source of energy for all living thing. without it, crops would not be able to grow and evolution would not be able to happen. without the sun, nothing would exist at all. that and it makes a breaks a good holiday!

Without the sun, the earth would just be a cold, lifeless rock wandering aimlessly through endless space. The sun provides warmth, light, day and night, and seasons. The earth travels around the sun, once per year. Certainly, the ancients did not realise any of this, which probably explains why we have creation stories in which grass and plants were created before the sun and moon.
