In my experience Honda motors with carbs AND fuel injection sometimes seem to take a wildly long time to start. I can't exactly say why. I drove an '88 Prelude with dual carbs and the owner's manual seemed to indicate that cranking the engine for as much as 15 or 20 seconds wasn't uncommon and even up to 30 seconds in severely cold weather. Long crank times are, more or less, a function of how the intake systems on these cars work. It's nothing to worry about. The starter is more than up to the task of consistently cranking the motor for 10 seconds.

Q: Why does an 86 Honda accord lx with 120000 miles turn over for at least 3 seconds then start while on a 90 degree day it would take 5 or 6 seconds?
