Look for a vacuum leak.
crankshaft sensor going.
A) It needs to be serviced. B) An animal in your trunk is uneasy when the engine idles.
I was told that this might be the EGR Valve either is clogged or going bad.
it idles quickly to save as much fuel, energy, oil, etc. as possible
It could be a vacuum leak
Possibly a defective torque converter lock-up solenoid. Disconnect the solenoid and see if that cures the problem. If so replace the solenoid.
idling too fast - adjust choke
cause if its idling at zero rpm the motor is off ...
whats the first step on repairing my 1993 Toyota truck 22re with a high idling problem thanks Brian
When a riding mower is idling too fast, the idle adjustment screw may need to be adjusted. Slowly turn the screw in a counterclockwise direction a little at a time until it idles at the correct speed.
Yes. Why? It's annoying. Yes. Why? It's annoying.
if your having problems with it not idling right and it dies on you because the rpms drop to low...you need to reset your neutral safety switch. any time the battary gets unhooked and this sounds funny but you don't let your car know the computer system thinks its beign stolen so it wont run right. when you reset it let your car run for 15min letting it run through two fan cycles that will allow your car to reset it self and it should work just fine i had this problem too.
