Defective oil pressure sending unit, burnt out oil pressure warning light, defective oil pump, or defective wiring. You will see the oil light when you turn on the ignition. If it is good check the wiring at the oil pressure sending unit. It it is good just replace the unit. If you have no oil pressure your engine will be making lots of noise and overheat.

Your light hasn't burned out. It's not coming on because you have a full tank.
The coolant level sensor is bad
5W30. The engine in the Sportage is from Mazda, and based on the same engine used in the Miata. Use a full synthetic 5W30 with a good oil filter. There isn't as much Sportage info out there as there is Miata, so look that up if you need more info.
Fuel level sensor malfunction.

Light has no full form
You coolant level sensor has stopped working, my 93 olds regency is doing the same thing. You will need to goto the a Buick/GM dealership to get the part, it plugs into the side of the radiator.

If the engine oil level is at the full mark, the light is not suppose to come on when driving.
