You probably need a code to enter into the radio presets as it is a security radio.
Without the code it will not function.
By changing the battery, you erased your car's computer presets. Your car probably has an anti-theft radio, that locks when power is lost to it, and requires a factory security code to unlock it. The code might be in a section of the owner's manual, but if you cannot find it, you have to go to a new car dealership and have them reset the radio.
No, they should still work.
Go to the parts store and get usually a 9 volt adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter and keeps voltage to the radio while battery is replaced.
go to your nearest Vauxhall company and get a code they'll give you to type into the radio bit. most places can do this for free.
To reset the radio in your Honda you will need the security code for the radio. This usually is included in the car's manual or you can also go to Honda's website and input your car's VIN number to retrieve the code. Once you have the code the car manual will walk you through the steps of resetting the radio.
Check the owner's manual, or go to the dealer. These will be your only resources. strangley enough after i did the power window reset my radio turned right on.
Disconnect the neg battery cable then take the bolts and wires loose from the back of the radio under the dash. Then pull the knobs off and remove the nuts there and work the radio out of the back of the dash.
You have to use the radio preset to insert the 5 digit code that came with the car on a small tag. Look in the owners manual and everywhere inside the glove box for this code. If you cannot find it go to http://owners. honda. com/hondalink (Remove spaces) and register you Honda. After registering you can get the code by clicking Retrieve Radio/Nac Code on the left in the menu.
Car Radios take very little energy to run, so it'll take many hours of non-use to kill the battery. It is probably the wiring of the radio that is wrong. The radio should fully go off when car goes off. There needs to be a positive a negative and a wire hooked up under the fuse box to allow radio to come on when car comes on and go off when car goes off. You should be able to figure this out by the color of the wires on your wire hareness (wire adapter for radio to stock connector.) or just bring your car and radio to a car audio shop and they can do it for you. If so, it would only be a dead battery, and a jump start would get you going again.
the battery is low, need to be charge
Honda radios have a security feature which prevents their use if they are stolen. This security feature is activated if the radio is disconnected from the battery (I.E. battery in car replaced). There should be a security code in your owners manual. Enter the correct code, and the radio will work. If you don't have the original owners manual, (or you can't find the information), you will have to go to a Honda dealer. They will have to verify ownership of the car/radio and can then look up the code.
I had to go to a dealership to get the radio unlocked, also the cause; ( radio locked) was Battery Failure. After I puchased a new battery I found the radio use to be locked.
