I have this problem and the dealer in Phoenix, AZ checked the system and said I needed a new motor, but if I replace it, there is a set up procedure to follow, and I need this.

The reason the wipers won't park is because the wiper transmission is worn out, here is a link to the part:http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalog/parts/partsProduct.jsp?displayName=Wiper+Transmission&itemId=2423-0&navValue=14302423&parentId=43-0&productId=19025&fromString=search&itemIdentifier=19025_0_5560_&filterByKeyWord=wiper&categoryNValue=14399999&isSearchByPartNumber=false&categoryDisplayName=Collision,BodyParts&store=2918&skuDescription=Dorman/WiperTransmission&fromWhere=&searchText=wiper&_requestid=298342
The reason they only work on high speed is because the circuit board is shot. Here is a link to the board prices although I'm not too sure about this supplier, I paid much more:http://www.best-price.com/search/landing/query/wiper+motor+pulse+board/s/Google/altk/Automotive+Parts/koid/2116029472/
The only thing that is NOT worn out is the motor.
Just a guess - a pump for the wiper fluid?
where is the location wiper motor Pontiac grand prix 2002
My mechanic replaced a pin in my 2002 Pontiac Montana wiper motor and that solved the problem. It was a very easy fix. The pin is visible if you look at the top of the wiper motor.
chances its not the motor but the wiper module board located on the wiper motor. just remove the wiper motor and the module board is connected to it.

Very simple there is a huck on wiper just remove and install.
inside the wiper motor there is a diode about 9 millimeters long (22059733). It is probably blown apart. replace with another 6 amp diode. inside the wiper motor there is a diode about 9 millimeters long (22059733). It is probably blown apart. replace with another 6 amp diode.
Need to know what model Pontiac, it makes a difference.
It is definitely a pin inside the wiper motor that is worn out. I just had mine replaced in my 02 Montana. The pin can be seen by removing the cover from the motor.
The windshield wiper motor is located just below the windshield wiper blades and is covered by a black panel.
There is no relay for this wiper motor. A PCB on the motor handles speed and intermitment changes.
It's the same resevoir. The hose may be clogged or sediment in the bottom of the resevoir. See if the front still work and hope for the best. The motor for the back might not be working. GOOD LUCK
