I had the same problem. It sounds worse than the old breaks. I upgraded to a break pad that has copper in it. It is a softer pad, but works great. Also get the rotors turned. That will fix the problem.
The Dodge Intrepid has front and rear brake hoses
Even though the brakes were recently changed, I would have the brakes taken apart and inspected. Something may have gone wrong.

The 1999 Dodge intrepid brake lines schematics diagram shows the routing of each brake line. The diagram will show the brake line routing from the master cylinder to each wheel.

If the brake lights stay on when the car is not running on most vehicles, including the 1994 Dodge Intrepid, there is probably a short somewhere in the wiring to the brake lights. The first place to investigate this problem would be the wires along the firewall that control the brake lights. Also, check the brake light switch above the brake pedal.
