If the exhaust gasses from your car is black, the mixture between air ang fuel is probably too rich. That means your car is blowing in too much gasoline / diesel compared to the ammount of air. This is not necessarily the problem, but a very likely cause. Other colours of your exhaust will also tell you that something is wrong. White smoke means water in the combustion (either from water in the fuel, or water leaking into the cylinder from the cooling system), and blue smoke means oil in the combustion. A reason for getting a too rich mixture of fuel and air is the carburettor not functioning properly.
It is buring oil this is a wrong answer whe engine burn oil to the exhaust smoke is a heavy white smoke no black
Black smoke from an engine is caused by unburnt fuel.
If you have some rubber/plastic with you that burns black.
take it to the car shop
it just depends what you burn to determine what color the smoke will be The black color of smoke depend upon the combustion, shortage of oxygen during combustion is the main cause of black color smoke.
burning lots of fuel to get it going, its an old car.
because its a terrible car mad , if the smoke is black the car wants to die , take it out of its miysery
