Providing that the bulbs and wiring are ok the likeliest cause is the brake switch attached to the pedal. Normally a push type switch that is activated by pedal movement. They are normally screwed through a plate so can be adjusted to suit pedal movement. So either broken or trequires screwing in or out to ensure contact with the pedal.

Check all the brake lights and dont forget the one behind the back window. That should fix the problem.

It means one of your rear brake lights are out. Not the tailights but the brake light(s).
Year? Brake lights on the car? The dash? I would suspect you have a problem with the brake system. Check the master cylinder to see if it is full. If so, take it to a professional for inspection.
You can buy two good brake lights at Advance Auto Parts for 9.99 plus tax. You can also get them for 4.99, for comparable lights.

Found out that the rubber plug located on the bracket pedal felt down. New rubber plug is been inserted in the hole common to the brake switch and the problem is been corrected.
