throttle body or idle air control value
If I understand your question properly I think you're referring to the engine timing. (when the spark plugs fire in relation to the rotation of the engine) When the temperature sensors on the car sense the engine is cold it will advance the timing of the engine to keep it from stalling out.
The most common reason for a vehicle to run rough when it is cold is bad spark plugs or bad spark plug wires. Change the spark plugs and spark plug wires.
I don't know for sure, but I have the same issue (2004 Endeavor LS). I have asked a mechanic this and the only answer i got was that it could be an exhaust leak. I haven't actually got it looked at, have you found out anything new?
Remove the radiator cap ONLY when the engine is cold.
this is normal, when the car is cold or off. the oil sinks down in to the oil pan.,. If this is a GM engine you may be using an aftermarket oil filter that allows oil to drain back this is not a good thing and can cause engine damage. GM has a TSB on this very problem.
becuase the bolts and everything really loosens up
Most likely bad intake manifold gasket. When the engine is cold the engine shrinks which unseals the intake and allows a small amount of unregulated air into the engine causing it to idle rough. as the engine heats up it expands sealing the leak causing idle to improve. You should also get lean codes from the computer as the engine is running to lean. Very common problem with the DOHC engine. See "Related Questions" below for more
They had carburetors back in the days of old (pre-1980's). If they weren't adjusted just right or operating properly they ran rough until the engine warmed up.
Because the aquastat is stuck or shorted.
intake 0.10 exhaust 0.20 engine cold
first of all engines need a certain amount of tourqe(work) to be able to get moving the tourqe is ussually higher when the car is started then it decipates once the engine gets warmed up cold so in cold wheather if you dont use the right grade of oil for cold whether or hot this can really mess up your engine
check your ignition timing.
first of all engines need a certain amount of torque (work) to be able to get moving the torque is usually higher when the car is started then it decipates once the engine gets warmed up cold so in cold weather if you dont use the right grade of oil for cold whether or hot this can really mess up your engine
