If the oil level is fine then either the oil pressure sending unit is defective or the oil pump has failed.
needs a sensor in the reservoir
The warning light can come on when it is time to change the oil. Your oil pressure and oil level can be at recommended levels when the oil needs to be changed.
Check Oil Pressure Switch. It's about $60 at Toyota
first check your oil level. If that is full (8qts) and your low oil pressure light is still on then your piston rings are worn. I would recommend a top engine rebuild.
DO NOT RUN this engine until you have it checked out,if you have no oil pressure you will destroy your engine. If your oil light is on you have no oil pressure, could be your oil pump or crankshaft bearings. There is a chance it could be a pressure switch malfunction.
The light is not an oil light, it is an oil pressure warning light. It is on because you have low oil pressure. Stop driving this vehicle until you find out why the pressure is low. I would start by replacing the oil pressure sending unit as it may be defective. It that does not solve the problem then seek professional help.
Defective oil pressure sending unit, burnt out oil pressure warning light, defective oil pump, or defective wiring. You will see the oil light when you turn on the ignition. If it is good check the wiring at the oil pressure sending unit. It it is good just replace the unit. If you have no oil pressure your engine will be making lots of noise and overheat.
the fuel pressure should be 40-60 psi and should be checked under full load :)
The oil light is comign on to tell you the oil pressure is low. It is not a gauge to tell you oil is low. Your oil pump may be going out and when it loses pressure it sets the light off. Or you could have engine wear to the place that the oil pressure is running low enough to set the warning light off. You may have a bad oil pressure sending unit as well setting off the light so I woul dcheck the oil sending unit first, maybe hook a gauge to it and see what for oil pressure you have and try to determine why your light is coming on.
I had this problem with my 106 and it turned out that the thermostat was broken.
Go to auto zone and have the alt checked out. It may not be charging to full capacity.
nissan designed the seatbelt warning light to flash i think around 7 times. there is also a warning bell with the light, however the bell deactivates once the drivers seatbelt is locked in, where as the light continues the full cycle. Naaman
