This indicates you may have a clog in your system somewhere. Change the oil filter and use a Mopar, Purolator, Or Wix filter and see if this helps. Are you using the correct weight oil. On your Jeep that would probably be 10w20. Using a higher weight could cause this. It could also be the gage is simply wrong. An oil pressure test will verify the accuracy of the gage.
If a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee's oil pressure gauge is measuring high, ensure it is not over-full on oil. You can also check the fuse.
I have a 97 jerp grand Cherokee is had no oil pressure an at time it would say I had a little bit but 3 days later from when it started doing the the oil pump went out an blew it up.
34 lbs.is good all around
a Bad Gauge, the reostat on the sending unit, a bad ground at the sending unit are the first thoughts that come to mind. Pukenstein@aol.com I don't follow how the battery is relavant as stated below. check the battery aslo...
If both odometer and speedometer are not working I would blame the vehicle speed sensor. If just the odometer isn't working the gauge cluster assembly needs to be replaced with a reconditioned one.
i am a land rover master tech, the first thing to do is make shure you have a good battery.test the fuel pressure and if there is no fuel pressure the fuel pump will take out the crank sensor leavig vehicle with no spark. so if you have good fuel pressure and no spark it sound like your crank sensor is bad.common problem. i hope i was able to help you.

Replace oil sending unit with a manual gauge
Trouble code P1492 means: Ambient/ Battery Temp sensor input voltage too high
The remote starter needs to be able to fake a chipped key.
You have a ground from the oil sender unit to the gauge. This is how you check a gauge. ground out the wire at the sender and it pegs out the gauge.
If you have 10 lbs of oil pressure per 1000 rpms, your fine.
If check gauges is lit and the oil press gauge is low, you have low oil pressure or a failed oil pressure sending unit.If check gauges is lit and the oil press gauge is low, you have low oil pressure or a failed oil pressure sending unit.
Remove oil pressure sensor and install a manual gauge
It goes up while driving and down when you're idle....that's normal
Minimum of 10 psi at idle. 30 is average. no more than 80 at 3000 rpm.
That, or the gauge is going. Or a loose wiring connection. I'd bet on the last.
