most of them are on a recall from gm,, they did mine twice, then it was still there, all they do is pop the steering wheel off and grease down the tube. my noise came back , and after having the powersteering pump take a dump, and i replaced it , wah la , the noise is now gone,,, so i believe the noise has alway's been with the faulty Power Steering pumps and not the column area...
Help out please? To see a diagram of the steering unit for a 2002 Chevy Tahoe.?"
the knuckle part and it has to be greased. you just need to a grease kit for it and take it to a shop if you can't do it yourself
Low power steering fluid or you need a lube job.
It's the intermediate shaft in the column. I had a 2002 suburban and my husband had a 2005 GMC Sierra. Both vehicles had to have this replaced. My 2006 Tahoe and his 2007 z71 don't have this problem. According to dealer techs, was a problem from 2002-2005.
soounds like steering wheel fluid needs to up
That sound may be your power steering pump low or out of fluid
power steering pump noise,,,may indicate wear
check the fluid in the power steering pump
It probably needs steering fluid.
also, check your power steering fluid levels. The noise you hear is the fuel pump.
It's a 1997 Tahoe
The 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe has a V8 engine.
