i have aq 96 bird to and have the same problem. i think they just have peice of crap clutches and probly have to replaced. the problem is i think the release bearing gets dried out ..
put tranny fluid in it!
broken band in tranny. or blown clutches.
revers gear is the first indication that your tranny is bad if you can go ahead put cant revers get to tranny shop good luck jack
Your tranny is in limp mode. The only gears that work are 2nd and reverse. Check the cable to your tranny and see if it is plugged all the way in. If it is then you have other electrical problems and need to have your truck looked at.
manual tranny's take gear oil not tranny fluid. you need to get all that fluid out and fill the tranny with 80/90 weight gear oil
do you have all forward gears? if yes, you have broken reverse gear (one turning the spin into reverse) in the transmission, if you miss also some forward gears it shifts rough, tranny is to be rebuilt... either way it's expensive fix
your looking to spend about $600 and are better off just to get the tranny rebuilt
Time for a new Tranny or a rebuilt. This is something that a Tranny shop needs to look at they have specialized equipment. First and reverse are usually the same gear except reverse direction. At least that has been my experience. It could just be shift solenoids are bad or even speed sensor. Have a good tranny shop check this out. Hope this helps
Neutral Start Switch-can't start in gear Reverse Light Switch- Back-up lighting Speedometer connection Gear sensor?-tells computer what gear tranny is in If auto- electronics controls gear shifting
means its time for a new trannsmission, and you probably put it in gear when moving .... i have an impala and if u take it out of gear when it is in motion say good bye to the tranny
You need to lift the collar on the gear stick to engage reverse gear
High mileage and low preventive maintenance. As well as a small clip that holds reverse gear in place and tranny doesnt even need to be pulled for the clip.
