It sounds like wheel bearings. They make a noise while they're in one position but when you hit the brake, it moves them a little, and the noise stops.

Rotors are worped most likely

What if your SUV squeeks every tire rotation but if you apply the brake while you are driving it goes away?

The low brake indicators on the brake pads are squealing. I highly recommend you have the brakes checked out.

What causes thumping when you step on the breaks?

It is most likely caused by a rotor that is warped. When you step on the brake pedal, the brake pads pulse against the uneven surface, causing a "thumping" you can feel. Other possibilities could include a bad wheel bearing or a tire that has tread that is separating.

How do you tell if your brake pads are bad?

If you are driving and you hear a high pitch squeeling/screaching sound but when you apply the brakes the sound stops your brakes need replacing, this is called your brake squeeler.

How do you know when you need brake fluid?

If you are driving and need to brake, but find your brake pedal is getting closer and closer to the floorboard, you need the check your fluid. Eventually your brakes will not have enough fluid to create the pressure needed to apply the brake pads properly and you risk accidents.

What makes the clicking noise when the 2003 Ford Escape is in park with pressing the brake?

Apply the parking brake, but not the driving brake, is the noise there? apply the brake,if the noise is only present when the brake is applied I would assume it is the anti-lock brake system. Get your VIN # of the vehicle and call a ford dealer and give them the # and ask if there are recalls for your vehicle. There are a few for this one but it depends on the vin. There is a anti-lock brake recall, but as I said it depends on where it was made if it falls under the recall.

Why do your front brake pads on 2008 Kia Sportage make a thumping noise when braking?

warped rotors, you probably had someone put on new tires with an inpact wrench and overtightened the lug nuts , this uneven tightening causes the rotors to warp giving a pulsating feel to the brake pedal and a thumping noise to the brakes.

How does a clutch break work?

If a truck has a clutch brake it would only be used when coming to a complete stop. By pushing the clutch peddle completely to the floor you would apply the clutch brake. This stops the clutch disc from spinning making it easier to shift into 1st or reverse gear. Normal shifting while driving you would not need to or want to push the clutch peddle to the floor to activate the clutch brake.
