What does adding one 2s electron for Lithium do to the energy of the 2 p electrons Why does this make sense?

Lithium belongs to atomic number 3 adding 1 electron in the energy shell does not make sense because it will still be unstable.

Is adding water to soil an irreversible change?

No, adding water to soil is a reversible change. Water can be evaporated from the soil through evaporation or drained out through drainage systems. This allows the soil to return to its previous state before the water was added.

Do onion cells still have chloroplasts when they have iodine on them?

The iodine has no connection as to whether the cells have chloroplasts or not. If the cells are green, then they do have them. Adding iodine doesn't change that fact. Not all cells of the plant have chloroplasts. The ones in the soil don't so if you are working with the bulb, it doesn't have chloroplasts in the first place.

Does the addition of two electrons or removal of one electron require more energy for an oxygen atom?

when adding two electrons to the oxygen atom yep! it requires more energy because it has to take them from another atom so it will be removing an electron using more ionization energy to do the work.and we must remember that oxygen needs two electrons to attain its valency then it needs to take two from another atom to be fully filled and without the two electrons it will still lack electron to be stable.this means adding or removing requires energy.

What would happen in the central heating system if someone bought two radiators?

Most central heating systems have more than one heat emitter, but as long as there's a rough balance between heat input from the system heat source and the heat emitters, the number of emitters doesn't matter. If you are thinking of adding two radiators to an existing system without changing the amount of space to be heated, if the boiler is adequate now, it still will be. If you are adding them to heat a basement area underneath the area presently heated, this is also generally not a significant change (heat rises). If you're adding a free standing uninsulated 1000sq foot greenhouse, you should consult a heating company in your area.

What fuel do you put in a 351 cleavland xd Ford Falcon?

Try running it on 87 octane. If you detect pinging move up to 89 octane. If it still pings you will have to go to 91 octane.

1993 Dakota v8 acts like is running out of gas loud pinging have use octane boost but still the same?

does it sound more like a knocking sound from the engine at idle?

What causes intermittent pinging on acceleration on your 97 Lincoln Town Car?

Using too low an octane fuel, incorrect timeing, or carbon buildup. Timing isn't adjustable on the 97 so I would say it is carbon buildup and too low octane or cheap quality fuel. I have gotten "93" octane at cheapy places and still had pinging but gotten regular or mid grade at better stations and not had the slightest hint of ping. Also, check to make sure your plugs and wires are in good shape.

Does 2002 vw passat v6 engine need 91octane fuel?

Yes. It's a higher compression engine which requires a higher octane level to help prevent "pinging" in the engine. This engine does have the intelligence built-in that detects "pinging" and retards the engine timing to prevent to pinging from occuring. Pinging is when the gas explodes early while the piston is still going up. This can cause damage to the piston over time, something that's expensive to fix. If you put 87 octane in the tank the car will detect the pinging early, retard the timing to save the engine but the fuel economy and performance goes down. Generally speaking you'll pay more in gas by dumping 87 in the tank than filling it up with the good stuff since the performance is better.

Will it hurt the motorcycle if you mix 87 and 93 octane gas?

The question is, what octane does the motorcycle require? If it needs 92 or 93, and you mix 87 and 93, you are probably not meeting the requirement. That could damage the engine due to pinging.Lower Octane means a more powerful and hotter explosion. Octane ratings vary, usually due to stroke time or compression ratios which increase the temperature of the air in the cylinder and pre-ignites the gas mixture (pinging), sometimes it has to do with aluminum in the head. If your bike manual asks for 92, put in 92.Lower Octane = More powerful explosion, very short burn time, hotter burnHigh Octane = Weaker and slower explosion, colder burn.Putting higher octane fuel in a lower octane engine usually results in poor perfromance because the power stroke has finished while the fuel is still burning.

Are there any issues with using regular gas vs premium gas in the Buick 3800 Supercharged engine?

Right. If it calls for Higher Octane, use it. :) Unfortunately yes. ...that is...if you FLOOR it... High boost, and load need a higher octane, so as not to "ping" which can cause damage over time.. good luck dave I have a 1996 Buick/Riviera _Supercharged Owners manual recommends using premium fuel, if supercharged. I put "regular gas" in by mistake & It wouldn't go over 55 MPH. Gil Raker I haven't noticed any difference, at least as of yet. With the high price of gas now I am using regular in my 98 Riviera, and every once in a while I will fill it with Premium. I have been told by a friend who works at a Refinery, that in the winter, you can use the "winter gas" regular. They have to make it a higher octane, but they don't tell you that. It will not cause any ping. It has something to do with Government standards. However, he does recommend using the Premium in the summer as it is made with the lower octane, especially if you do notice it is pinging. This is a common misconception that ... However ... is simply not true. The compression of you engine determines what octane fuel you should run in the engine. Follow the recommendations in your owners manual. If it says to use 87 octane, then using a higher octane will not improve performance, MPG, or in any other way, help. If however your engine requires, 89 or 91 octane, then using a lower octane than recommended may cause pinging, and pinging can cause engine damage. The exception to this are some of the modern computer controlled engines of today. An engine requiring 91 octane may indeed be able to burn 87 octane but at a penalty in MPG & power. The reason for this is that the computer will readjust the fuel air mixture and the timing to compensate for the lower octane fuel. This will prevent pinging, but at a penalty. It is simple, burn what is recommended by the people who built the engine, no more and no less. Do not listen to people who tell you that high octane fuel will help performance or mileage in a engine designed for 87 octane. It is a myth that still persists today. Even some car guys who should know better believe this. A ll you are doing is wasting your hard earned money. If the car recommends premium gas, you can get by using 87 octane, you will just lose a little performance and fuel economy. It's been proven though that your savings in gas costs when using the lower octane are greater than your savings when using the proper premium and paying more. Older cars didn't have the engine management to change the timing on the car to get rid of pinging (knock boxes), so it was bad on the engine. If the engine requires premium, use it. If it recommends it, use it if you want to.

What causes a GMC Envoy to make a pinging noise?

Low Octane fuel will cause pinging. It should not last for more than a few seconds then the Knock sensors should signal the PCM to retard timing. You should ensure that you use ONLY "top tier" Gasolines. If it continues to ping then you must use a higher Octane fuel. Please be aware that Top Tier and higher octane are two different concepts. If it still continues to ping (for more than a few seconds) then you must take it in and find out why the knock sensors are not working. The other noise that happens on cold starts is a diesel sound and should go away after the engine warms up. Early 2002 Models have a TSB that refers to this and sleeve failure.
