Axe?
Short of it is the resistor controls the fan speeds for the blower. Easy to replace and to my knowledge only available through a dealer.
Both.
You need to check the operation of the radiator fan.
Well I have a 2000 dodge durango and I had the same problem. I didn't know the answer so I kept using the a/c which the car overheated and cracked my radiator. Come to find out the fan for the a/c does not work! I guess there is a radiator fan and a a/c fan. Hope that helps!
1. change the thermostat. 2. radiator flush (possibly clogged) replace if bad. innerauto.com $150 3. fan clutch not turning possibly (replace) 2 & 3 destroyed my 4.7L engine in my 2002 Durango. You will get check gauges on dash.
Its your Blower resistor! Its located on the passenger side underneath the dash board. I had to change mine in my 02 Durango. It takes about twenty mins and cost about $40.00 buck. You have to buy it at the dealer.
Using a special clutch fan tool to hold the fan still, remove the fan nut and take the fan off of the dodge 360. The tool should be available for rental from a local auto parts.
A Hayden is $135 from Advance Auto or $70 from Ebay
