Someone was really unhappy that he brought the races together,so he thought that it would be right to shoot him to discourage others.

When a group feels threatened by the social or political powers of other groups, there are often those who are unstable or angry enough to act violently, attacking or killing the people they see as making changes to their world. Political assassins are usually those with personal problems that make them prone to violence already. They are different from terrorists, but both types of individuals have little regard for the rights or desires of people who disagree with them.

Dr. King was inspired by literature such as Civil Disobedience, in which going against the government would be right when the government is wrong. Dr. King was a strong leader in the equal rights for all people of every race, especially Blacks in America. He peacefully led protests against racial inequality and was a very charismatic leader and orator. Dr. King realized that inequality for the Blacks resulted from Black slaves in the United States. Being a Christian, Dr. King realized that God condoned slavery in the Old Testament of The Bible. However, it must be realized that the slaves of the Bible existed because they were prisoners of war, were criminals, or in debt. They were released after paying their debt to society. Black slaves on the other hand, were bought and sold and treated like non-human things. Dr. King left a great legacy that all civilized people are still fighting to uphold to this day.

Most people say MLK was shot because he created a massive black rights movement which really annoyed people.

Many other theories exist. The confessed and convicted assassin later recanted and claimed his innocence. The King family has issued statements blaming the FBI for the killing.

With the facts clouded by conflicting testimony and more than 40 years, each person must make up his own mind. The inarguable facts are:

-Dr. King built a powerful and influential civil rights movement

-Dr. King was becoming more and more of a voice against the Vietnam War.

-Dr. King had upset Lyndon Johnson several times.

-J. Edgar Hoover was obsessed with bringing King down one way or another.

-The white supremacy movement had threatened King many times.

-Nearly all of the testimony against James Earl Ray was doubtful.

-There was growing dissension within the peace movement and also within the black power movement that Dr. King was not forceful enough.

It is easy to conclude only that there is no easy conclusion. Any of several persons or groups may have acted alone or together to kill Dr. King. King never thought he would live long; he knew that someone would take his life.

He was shot dead by a white racist because he was fighting for blacks to be treated equally and without Martin Luther King Jr. then there wouldn't be a lot of black people who also made improvements to modern day society.
