In short, Texans didn't want to be Mexicans. They broke all their laws and rejected their culture even though they were legally under control of Mexico. They refused to emancipate slaves and stop importing them, they refused to convert to Roman Catholicism, and did a lot of smuggling. Texans were also, for the most part, white Americans who immigrated there for money and opportunity. So there was tension between them and the native Mexicans. All of these factors created enough tension for Texans to finally openly defy Mexican rule rather than silently avoid laws or accept them begrudgingly.
Because they did not want to always eat tacos and burritos.
They sought Independence.
stop being gay
Slavery.
I honestly dont know and dont care, social studies sucks.
Americans resented following Mexican laws; also, few Americans spoke Spanish, and they were angry that documents had to be in that language. Slave owners were upset when Mexico outlawed slavery in 1829.
Anglo settlers to Texas weren't the only Mexican citizens upset in 1835. Quite a few areas of Mexico were in open revolt. Santa Ana had abrogated the 1821 Mexican Consstitution. This is why you will see Mexican flags with an 1821 on them, it was the bearers way of saying that the government should uphold the Constitution. They were upset, because Santa Anna and the Mexican government had locked Stephen F. Austin up.
The Americans rebelled against the Mexico government because they thought Mexico was bad. The Texans wanted to live in foreign lands without following their restricitions. They also believed they were in Mexico's destiny. Mexico was trying to tell people who lived in Texas how to live. The Americas who lived in Texas decided to go on with Mexico's rules, but they weren't happy about it. Even Mexicans who lived there were upset. The Texans also wanted to keep Texas a slave state. They wanted the people who moved there to be loyal to Mexico governmentlearn the spanish language, and revert to Roman Catholicism. At first they were content to live under the Mexico rule. But the two massacres brought bickering in opposition to Santa Anna.
ANSWER:The problems between Texas and Mexico would include:A portion of land in Texas, was granted for 100 American families to settle a colony in 1820, and become loyal subjects of Spain. However, by 1835, Americans outnumbered Mexicans by ten to one. This was because "Texas fever" spread across the South, and after the 1830's, the province had gone from 100 settlers to 30,000 settlers. Many settlers had brought their slaves with them to Texas. Periodic attempts by Mexico to abolish slavery in Texas was a problem.Mexico had became alarmed at the large number of Americans in Texas and began to restrict settlement. Some land grants were canceled.Shooting occasionally broke out between Mexican troops and American cowboys.
I know that Texas was upset because they liked having the largest state status.
Many reasons led to this, the main reason was that the growing number of Anglo-Americans were pushing them out, so they fought back
Texas used to belong to Mexico. When Texas gained independence from Mexico, it became its own country, essentially. Texas wanted to become a part of the United States, but Mexico was opposed because: (a) Mexico knew that it had a better chance of reclaiming Texas if it only had to fight a Texas military as opposed to a U.S. military. (b) Mexico was very opposed to slavery. If Texas was going to be annexed, the U.S. would make it a slave state, meaning slavery could exist in Texas, which Mexico didn't like.
As the war was motivated by pro-slavery interests, northerners feared the acquired territory would be used by slavers (they did, especially on New Mexico and Texas). This eventually upset the balance of power between pro and anti slave interests and resulted in the American Civil War (1861-1865).
The American colonists were upset because the British government started to tax the Americans.
The settlers moving west and taking over their land is what upset the Native Americans about the settlers moving west. The Native Americans had lived there and made their homes there, they did not want to have to change their way of life.
