Because Australia is part of the commenwealth and if I am not mistaken Britain declared war on Africa right?

For boer was Australia is part of the commenwealth

ACTUALLY, The commonwealth wasnt established till 1902(it was a responce to the war), AFTER the Boer war (1885- 1902) . And it was the Boers (dutch-africaans)who declared war as brithish subjects were slowly 'invading' the non-british run colonies to try their luck with gems and gold. Australia got involved for maybe two reasons....1, we wanted to please the mother country and wanted to ensure that she would be there for us if we ever got invaded, and 2, australians 'army' wasnt able to be trained without what they felt was 'hands on experience' eg. war. so Australia kept sending offers to help but Britan said no, until the british colonys got slaughtered 3 times, then they took all the australians they could get.

How did the Boer war cause Australians to question British control over Australia?

If it did, it wasn't significant. The Australians lost roughly 1,000 men in the Boer War. If anything the Australians resented the British during WWI (the Great War) especially after Gallipoli...and which Australia lost 60 times as many men in WWI than they did in the Boer War. As an added note, in both of the those wars Australian servicemen were volunteers; unfortunately, the bulk of the Australian fighting men in Vietnam were drafted.

Was nz involved in the boer war?

Yes, New Zealand was involved in the Second Boer War 1899 -1902. New Zealand sent 6500 soldiers, 230 of these soldiers died. We also sent 30 female nurses and 20 female teachers. The Second Boer War was the first overseas conflict which New Zealand sent troops. Note: "Boer War" refers to the Second Boer War. The First Boer War 1880-1881 is not well-known and did not involve New Zealanders.
