Why will unlocking the passenger door on my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee disarm the security alarm but drivers door will not?

I had the same problem. I could unlock (dis-arm) from the drivers door until it the switch failed. Then I would use the passanger door until that one failed. Finally i had to take the Jeep to the dealer (or leave it unlcoked all the time) Each door has a dis-arm switch. Even the tailgate has a switch. the dealer replaced the faulty switches in both front doors - all is well. Hope this helps.

You replace the bulb by twisting a plastic ring 1/4 turn located behind the headlight. The passenger side is hard to get to without removing the battery but can be done. If you remove the battery make sure you reset the alarm after you reconnect by unlocking the drivers door with the key.

1997 vw golf with the lock out of the drivers side door the alarm keeps going off when you connect the battery how do you bypass this or disable it?
Try the passenger door or hatch if you have one. I dont have a drivers side lock so I have to keep unlocking the passengar door each time the battery dies.
