This might actually be as easy as using the interior light dimmer switch. On the left side of the steering wheel on the dashboard to the lower left side of the instrument panel are three switches, one of them looks like a half a wheel sticking out at you...this is a rotary switch that turns on/off the interior lights and also dims or brightens the instrument panel and enviromental control panels. How do i know this...i couldn't figure out why mine was off...until I tried to turn on the interior lights and realized that switch was in the off position and hence all the panel lights were also off...told you it was simple. if this isn't the problem..i would check fuses first, then wiring, moving from the obvious to the more difficult possible solutions.

It's obvious that you have problems with wiring. I would start from the heater/AC control panel.

How do you read fault codes on an 1988 toronado?

If your model has the digital heater/AC control panel, turn the ignition switch to "on" and then press the heater control panel's "off" and"warm" buttons at the same time for 5 seconds or so. The instrument panel will then display any codes.

Why want your heater in your 1999 silverodo turn down it just keeps getting hotter?

If your heater control is manual you probably have a cable that has become disconnected at the heater control valve or on the back of the panel. If you have an automatic temp control system you probably need a new temp control panel.

Why when you turn your air conditioner or heater on it will not get hot or cold?

Well the heater could be because you have low engine coolant or the thermostat is stuck open so the coolant will not get heated up. As for the AC sounds like you are all out of free-on.

Why do you smell antifreeze when you turn on the air conditioner?

If the heater has a sweet smell it could be that the heater core is leaking engine coolant. When the leak gets worse you will have a wet floor on the passenger side and the windshield will fog up when you turn on the defroster.

Intrigue heater motor comes on at will?

Check and make sure you don't have the "Auto" option selected on your Heating and Air conditioning control panel. This feature lets the car "automatically" turn on or off to adjust the temperature in the cabin to the temperature set on the display. To turn it off, just press the "Off" button.
