Automatic transmission? 2 vehicle will shift only from 1st to 2nd gear 3 vehicle will shift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd gear 4 vehicle will shift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd to 4th gear
It matters if you have atuomatic or manual transmission. In an automatic car the gears shift on it's own. In an manual car you shift buy pushing the clutch and then shift from 1st gear to 2 gear.
Take it to a trusted transmission expert ASAP. You have a serious transmission problem. Continuing to drive the car may do irreparable damage.
you have burnt out the 3rd. gear and overdrive. you will have to have it rebuilt or replaced.
A bad solenoid is likely the reason why your 1994 Chevrolet S10 Blazer won't shift into 1st or 4th gear. Getting it replaced should fix the issue.
The transmission will only shift from 1st gear into second gear. It will not shift into 3rd, 4th or overdrive. Generally, temporarily used for pulling a heavy load like pulling a boat out of the water.
The shift link cable could be broken, or the 1st/2nd shift fork, inside the transmission, could be damaged.
theses cars have what is called skipshift....if your gettin on it ..it wont let you shift into the next gear...you have to skip a gear.....if you get on it in first it wont let you shift to 2nd..you have to go to 3rd..and so on
My '97 won't shift out of 1st gear when its cold (it will after it warms up). I found that pushing the "S" button will enable it to shift when cold. It has worked every time so far.
