On a 1996 Ford Taurus : The 3.0 liter " Vulcan " V6 engine is rated at ( 145 horsepower ) The 3.0 liter " Duratec " DOHC , V6 engine is rated at ( 200 horsepower )
In a 2001 Ford Taurus : For the 3.0 liter " Vulcan " V6 engine ( Motorcraft FL-400-S ) For the 3.0 liter " Duratec " V6 engine ( Motorcraft FL-820-S )

You don't say what model year of Ford Taurus , but over the years there was the 3.0 liter " Vulcan " V6 engine and the 3.8 liter V6 engine which are both Over Head Valve ( OHV ) / pushrod design engines and The " Duratec " engine is a DOHC engine
