some vehicles have a failsafe sensor or low oil pressure or level sensor if the sensor reads low oil level or pressure it will automatically shut off the car and not allow it to be started until the fault is repaired
does my 1996 pontiac ga stall out in park
No, it would not. There are many things that could cause a stall at idle. The throttle plate could be dirty as well as the mass air flow sensor. You did not mention the kind of car or engine size. Is the check engine light on, is it when the engine is warmed up or cold?
Why would my 1984 Dodge pick up truck stall at the light when I stop
If the check engine light is on...might be a dirty EGR valve.
If the check engine light has come on, have the codes read. That would be a good place to start.
The thermostat control engine temperature. If it fails the engine can run hot or cold - that would happen long before over-heating caused the engine to stall.
There is not a good answer for this particular question it depends on the plane, if the plane is a light plane and is fully loaded on one engine it could fly a longer distance, but it will still descend or if it is kept in a level course it might stall. if the plane is not fully loaded or empty it could have the range to make it to the closet air port. but if the dead weight is high it most likely would stall, and be hard to get to glide.
Why would it stall or almost stall in Reverse but not in Drive? How long since it's received a tune-up and thorough check-up? How is the compression?
It's probably the idle control solenoid
That would be a good problem to repair even if it's NOT causing the check engine light to come on... but I would suspect yes, depending on the manufacturer.

Oil level is low. Serious engine damage will occur if this is not corrected. Check the oil level!
