I think that alot of the 2.0L zetecs do the same thing. My fan comes on when it gets on the A. As long as you are in between the lines, it is not overheating. Some people have put manuel switches on so they can control when their fan comes on. Also if you feel it is hotter than you like, cut the AC on and both fans will come on.
yes there are why dont your look it up yourself
Thermostat and radiator
That depends on the thermostat. If it's a 185 thermostat, the engine should run at 185. If it's running too hot, check the thermostat, radiator and water pump. If it's running too cold, replace the thermostat.
The thermostat is located inside the housing on the right side of the engine. There is about as big as a woman's wrist running from the radiator to the engine on the right. It connects to the housing in question. There is generally a bolt on the top and nut on the bottom of this housing that will needs to be removed. Inside lies the thermostat.
This is likely a stuck thermostat.
broken thermostat; blocked hose to radiator or hole in hose; leak in radiator; etc..
Just had this problem. I replaced the oxygen sensor and it appears to be running fine.
Bad cooling fan or thermal relay. Bad water pump, clogged radiator.
Radiator fan inoperative, thermostat stuck closed, coolant low, radiator restriction, etc.
First you need to run the engine until the thermostat opens, you will see the water running through the radiator. the coolant will go down into the radiator You need to continue to add coolant until you don't see anymore air coming up, or coolant go down into the radiator maybe three times that the thermostat opens. When you have got most of the air out you will see the water running inside of the radiator then stop when the thermostat closes. Cycle it two or three times to be sure.
Thermostat failed in open position or radiator fan permanently on
For a 2.4 litre engine, where the pressure cap is that is the thermostat housing..if you try to remove the pressure cap (in cold temperature only) you will see the thermostat..A damaged thermostat can be diagnosed when an engine running is at above normal temperature by squeezing the radiator hose connected to the thermostat housing..if there is no coolant running in it the thermostat is close then replace it.
