your outer CV joint is shot, it will be more pronounced on the side that is bad when you turn to the side that is bad. the "technical" reason that it "clicks" is because it has no lubrication and things are binding in the joint. But if you hear it change it as soon as possible or you will have to add a tow bill to your repair..............
if clicking is in turns than a front axle needs replaced. if turning right it is your left axle-- turning left it is your right axle!! the clicking is the cv joint in axle.
A clicking sound coming from the front end indicates there is something wrong with the axle on that side of the front end and that it might fail. When the clicking sound becomes very audible, have the axle checked. It might cost about $250 to replace the axle. The "axle" is not the type of axle that goes all the way across the car from one wheel to the other. It is only a joint between the front wheel on that side and the steering mechanism.
A bad cv joint/axle shaft on the front will make a clicking noise when turning.
Mine had a clicking noise and it turned out to be the front passanger side axle assembly.
You need to replace the front axle Every 80,000 to 120,000 They wear out, normal maintance
if you have a bad axle they will usually make a clicking noise when turning
You did not say what kind of vehicle it is. If it is a front wheel drive, it has drive axles and if the drive axle is going out, it will click especially when you turn the wheels.
i think it could be your brakes, rotor, axle, wheel bearing,or your tranny makinfunny noises.
Front main axle or CV joint.... that's assuming this car is front wheel drive
If the noise is a clicking sound, chances are the CV shaft (or axle shaft) is bad. It supplies power from the trans axle to the wheel.
Depends on the noise...If I'm correct this is front wheel drive and if its a clicking sound,it could be an axle that has a torn boot and the bearings are worn out...Or if its a diff sound,it could be a front shock or strut... If it is a clicking sound it is a good possiblity you have a cv joint going out. If so you need to replace very soon.
Thunderbirds never had a front axle
