Brake lights often use a dual-filament bulb. If this gets inserted the wrong way other functions can suffer.
turn signal switch needs replaced!
Brake lights and turn signals are on a separate circuit from the tail lights. Tail lights are on the same circuit with the dashboard lights. If the dashboard lights aren't working either, check the fuse. If they ARE working, check the headlight switch.
Could be the brake light switch or fuse.
if turn signals are working , and brake lights not working, i would replace the stop light switch on the brake pedal
The brake lights in your 1983 Nissan pickup truck are controlled by the brake light relay switch. When the brake light relay switch malfunctions the brake lights will stop working.
A blown bulb. Check fuses and then start replacing the bulbs one by one.
Try replacing the headlight switch. Do the front parklights work and not the rear ones? If so check the harness to the rear of the vehicle for breakage.
Check the fuses and the bulbs.
Check all of the three bulbs try replacing with working bulbs this should resolve the issue unless you have a bad module.

im not familair with that make of vehicle but. the brake lights anf the signals are supposed to be separte. they both plug into a harness near the back of the vehicle. if your brake lights are working with your signals, you might have something crossed. take it to an expert you trusst and let them check it out.
