It's either the switch is broken or the door lock actuator (the motor that moves the lock) is broken. Take it to a shop so they can trace the electrical issue or try replacing the switch first because that's usually the cheapest and easiest.
If the power door locks quit working on a 1979 Corvette, it is due to broken pigtail switches. With age and use, the pigtails break and leaves the power door locks inoperable.

The first cars like the Stanley Steamer had mechanical door locks. The first car with power locks was a luxury car called the Scripps-Booth in 1914. It is unclear through most references which engineer working on the Scripps invented the power lock. Power locks were popularized by Packard luxury automobile Co in 1956. It is unclear through most references as to which engineers working for Packard invented their power locks.
The power door locks on a Dodge Caravan can stop working if the fuse is bad. Check the power door lock relay fuse that is located in the engine compartment on most Dodge Caravans. It should be next to the battery.
