The intake manifold in a motor is like the lungs of your car. Air is taken in through the intake manifold and then is evenly distributed to the cylinders to mix with gas.
Answer Yeas absolutuley can, Typical of the 3.8 and the 3.1 motors, Have also seen it it in the 3.4 motors. What do you have? It is probably an intake manifold gasket problem, depending on the motor.
The EGR valve on the 4.3l Vortec motors is located directly in front of the thermostat housing , near the front of the motor. Both items are located near the front of the intake manifold. Follow the coolant feed line back the to water neck/thermostat housing, the EGR valve will be the 3" canister-style object in front of that.
i have been told that it is located on the drivebelt end of the intake manifold on 3.0 and 3.8 liter motors. and on 3800 motors its on the the opposite end of the intake( drivers side rear of motor, mounted on rear of intake manifold.) im changeing mine tomm so I'll write back with info on how it goes
Depending on the motor you may need to put a small dot of silicone at the corners where the intake meets the head of a V motor. 4-6 cylindar straight motors don't use sealer.
It is located below the intake manifold. It is located below the intake manifold.
on top of the motor
under the intake manifold under the intake manifold
