Under the intake manifold.
On the passenger side of the motor, behind the intake runners.
air intake temperature sending uniti bought a chip for my 1999 Chevy silverado z71. i was wondering where the intake air temperature sending unit is does anyone have a pic or can help me out. thanks.

Under the intake arch on the left side of the engine.
passenger side of the engine at back of head near intake manifold - remove air intake tube to see.
The IAT, intake air temperature sensor, measure the temperature of the outside air as it hit the air duct. ?æWhen you look under the hood and follow the intake air hose you will find the sensor.

From what I understand looking on forums and such, is the IAT is integrated into the MAP sensor. It should be located on the top of the intake manifold.
It is under the air cleaner, screwed into the intake manifold. It blew my mind because I had never had one that was screwed in like that before.
You can find the knock sensor on the top side of the engine under the intake manifold. It is easiest to find from the driver's side and is at the back of the engine block.
its under the air intake. its hard to miss. you dont have to take the intake off to see it either. And i believe its a 10mm bolt, simple. Go to http://www.lovehorsepower.com/SubaruDocs/subaru_legacy_knock_sensor.htm there you will find photos on how to remove and reinstall the knock sensor
