Yes it MIGHT help in getting your hood unjammed. However, you really cant get the grill off without the hood being open. You can if you break it, but these grills are hard to replace on the 6000 as there arent many left. Another idea is to reach up from underneath and behind the bumper and see if you can reach the hood release. This might save you the trouble of destroying your grill.
