The "right" way to do it is apply for a spouse visa while she's still abroad. It takes at least 8-12 months and can be a frustrating process. You can apply after she gets to the U.S., but it's risky. The question is how did she get over here - was it on a tourist visa, or perhaps a student visa? It may trigger some suspicion if she is found to have been less than honest with Immigration officials.
he will stay American citizen....he has to apply to become a Canadian citizen or his wife has to apply for him and will have to tell the court that she has married him
My brother married a girl from the Philippines in the Philippines. They were both previously divorced. She is a Philippine citizen. He is a US citizen. I do not know whether this will apply to your situation but it sounds similar. You might want to check with the British consulate there to be sure.
They should be able to through an American Embassy.
Yes they can apply - there will be tough questions though.
No, the ex-wife does not have to apply to become an American citizen. She is already one! When she marries the guy, she is officially an American citizen
Citizenship is not acquired by marriage. After 10 years of residency in the Philippines you may request to become a Philippine Citizen or you can be made a citizen by act of Congress for special and outstanding contributions to the Republic of The Philippines.
The government of the Philippines does not allow you to have dual nationality.
Yes, you can become an American citizen if you are British. You would need to apply for citizenship, which can take a few years.
Yes All of the information I have found has said there is no way. How can I do it?
You have to have your green card for 5yrs or 3yrs if married to a US citizen. Then you have to apply for US citizenship and once approved you can apply for US a passport.
