You may have a problem with your air bag coil. that is the part below your steering wheel that allows the wheel to turn but keep electrical connection with you air bag and accessories. I have seen several trucks with inoperative steering wheel buttons that were easily fixed with a new drivers information center software udate. Both of your problems may not be related. steering wheel diagram for 1993 silverado horn
The clockspring under the airbag is not connected or needs to be replaced! also the cruse control and radio controls in the steering wheel are probably not working
Turn the key on but don't start the car, depress the gas pedal completely to the floor three times within 5 seconds, turn key off and then start car. If you were successful the light should flash 5 times then go out. This should reset it, works for almost all newer GM's This is how you reset the light if your vehicle does not have the steering wheel controls. If it does, you reset the light with the steering wheel controls.
Light blue is for steering wheel controls or a wire remote control.
Have you checked the steering wheel?
Electronic controls are in the ECU and on the transmission. Mechanical controls are on the steering column and attached to the transmission via a cable in a sheath.
if u put wider aftermarket tires on then the tires are rubbing on the fender wheel well if you are refering to in/at the actual steering wheel, then some grinding noise is normal. it's possible the electrical contacts for airbag/cruise/radio controls, whatever you have on the steering wheel are making some grinding noise.
There is no light on the steering wheel.
