Do You have your air intake connected? If not there is a sensor that will shut down your engine check your MAP and MAT sensor I think you might need to check your fuel supply, or your oil pressure sending unit. When the engine shuts down, you try and start the engine by turning the key off and back on, this resets the fuel pump to the 2 second run time before ECM takes over. When the engine is running the ECM looks for oil pressure, if there is no pressure or very little, then the ECM automatically shuts engine down to save it from self destruction of the crank bearings.
1991 mitsubishi eclipse 2.0L starts 2 to 3 seconds later shuts off
Had same problem on my 03. Replaced the fuel and air filter and had plugs replaced. Ran like new after. Dont know which its was but a place to start.
When you start a diesel you must know that it does not have spark plugs it has glow plugs therefore it has to warm up for about 5-10 seconds you can pertain to this by checking if there is a spiral lit up or "wait to start"both should be in your info center or near your odometers and gauges
fuel injector
The fuel pump only runs for a couple seconds after the initial start attempt, then shuts off. Crank the engine for a few seconds. Then turn it off and then do it again for a few more seconds. Do this several times in order to get the fuel to the engine. After a few attempts, the engine should start.. Hope this helps...
That would probably be the intake maf sensor or intake air sensor, if it doesn't detect air flow it shuts off the fuel
im not shure but its probably the arlam that's the 1st year they put it on and it sucks
It is an electric fuel pump and does not require priming.Cranking the engine should start the pump to run. The computer shuts it off after 3 seconds if the engine has not started.
Most likely bad plugs or firing order isn't right, i would start by checking the order you got the plugs and if that's not it check the plug wires.
If you turn the ignition key to the run position , the pump runs for about 3 seconds and then shuts off if you don't start the vehicle
Could be the immobiliser, try disconnecting the battery for 30minutes a then connect it back up and try starting it again!!
If this is the remote start system, it shuts down the engine for security.
