under the hood on the driver side there is a fuse box at the very rear if u don't look hard u will miss it cause it is small but u will see one fuse box there but look a little further back to see the other fuse box

On a 2008, fuse 13 (10 amp) located inside the fuse box in the engine bay controls your DRL. Removing it should disable your lights.
You probably need to check the headlight module located neer the front of the vehicle

I'm not a mechanic / technician but i was looking at the 2001 Ford Expedition Owner Guide and it shows : In the Power Distribution Box ( which is " live " ) located in the engine compartment on the drivers side of the engine compartment ( fuse # 15 is a red color 10 amp mini fuse for the running board lamps )

Daytime running lights can be turned off by removing the fuse that controls them. The fuse is in the passenger compartment fuse box. The fuse number is D5.
